Our company supplies a range of chemicals into the EU which require registration under the REACH program. Based in Australia, this necessitated us to appoint an Only Representative to undertake and complete registration for substances of concern, and preparations containing such substances, in order to continue to supply into the EU.
The process of selection of an Only Representative was in itself a difficult process but after contacting several candidates both electronically and by telephone it became clear that Chris had, as far as possible at that stage, a clear understanding of the processes and requirements to satisfy our needs to gain ongoing access to the EU market. Clearly he was the most professional and capable person we contacted and so we engaged his services to facilitate/complete registration for us under the very complex REACH program.
Since that time Chris has been able to engage successfully and professionally with our technical department, initially to secure pre-registration of substances, and finally through to registration of a Substance of Very High Concern. Included in this process was:
• Clarification of the need for registration of a key substance of our preparations and also for direct sale to the EU. The manufacturers of this substance were unwilling to register for sale into EU
• Completion of the registration on time and within an advised budget
• Assistance with preparation and documentation of SDS and labelling requirements in order to comply with CLP regulations
• Assistance and advice to our customers on many aspects of this very difficult area of CLP notifications in a timely manner, subsequent to our preparations and substances having been imported by them into the EU.
Without Chris’s guidance this would not have been possible for us to complete.
